Her Story: Tales of Poole Women Past and Present

20 January - 11 March 2018

Her Story: Tales of Poole Women Past and Present is an exhibition throwing a light onto the women of Poole, both from history and today. This exhibition will look at the stories of some Poole women through objects in our collections and through a series of biographies. The exhibition will encourage visitors to reflect on their own story or the stories of women they know.

The exhibition will include the voices of women today which will be recorded in November at libraries throughout the Borough. We would really like your help with this. We want to hear stories of heroism, battling against the odds. We want to hear about people who are well known in their communities, who have done good deeds. We also want to hear personal recollections and accounts of everyday life. Every woman has a story to tell and we want to hear yours.

We will select from the recordings and these will be available in the exhibition and on a dedicated web platform hosted by Bournemouth University.

For more information please contact Trudie Cole by phone on 01202 262623 or by email.
