The Vikings are coming

Trudie ColePosted by Trudie Cole at 25/06/2015 13:00:27

Next Monday we get to try out a brand new workshop about the Vikings. I am very excited about this and the possibility of containing a rabid invasion in the confines of Scaplen's Court. In many ways the changes to the history curriculum have been an amazing opportunity for us to do new, exciting workshops with an archaeological focus. Drop us a line if you want to find out more or how to book any of our workshops.

Incidentally, did you know the first place the Vikings invaded in England was Portland in Dorset, in the Year 789.

Looking ahead

We're winding up our schools programnme for this year now, but nothing stands still. I'm just developing series of INSET sessions in conjunction with various subject experts here at the Museum. I will be dicussing these more in the near future. We also recently approced our events plan for the Autumn. We've got some exciting plans for the Big Draw, Takeover Day, Museums at Night coming up. We've also just added craft sessions from Walford Mill to our programme, so Autumn will be packed. keep an eye on our events page.
